Disney high: sophomore class by Nina-D-Lux Disney high: sophomore class by Nina-D-Lux
The mandatory teenage girl myspace pose. I know no one uses myspace anymore, but i still call it the myspace pose.

So in my disney high story i divided all the characters into different year groups. Ariel, Jasmine, Rapunzel and Mulan are sophomores and an inseparable group of friends. (p.s. i had originally planned to make them freshman way way back when i first started drawing them, but i changed it to sophomores since it fit better. Just clearing that up since i might refer to them as freshman in old pics)

Ariel and Jasmine have been friends since pretty much their first week of highschool and Mulan quickly became their friends too. This year however Rapunzel is the new girl, previously homeschooled, and the three girls take an immediate liking to her.

Ariel's more or less the wild one of the group, always up for a get together or a spur of the moment trip to the mall. Being from such a big family with so many sisters she loves being surrounded by people all the time and cant sit still on her own for more than ten minutes.
Jasmine's the more mature girl of the group and in a way an unofficial leader. She's very protective of her friends as well and will not hesitate to stand up to anyone who trys to hurt them, especially her new friend Rapunzel who she can tell is more shy.
Rapunzel is thrilled that she seems to be fitting in and adores having friends. She's never really gotten to hang out with girls her own age before and she's loving all the new experiances, even the little ones.
Mulan is quiet in her own way and a bit of a quirk, forgetting things, falling over her own feet etc, but her friends love her for that. But dont mistake her kindness for weakness, she's tougher than she looks!

coloured in copic markers and edited in photoshop.

Would you by any chance be adding Elsa, Anna and Kristoff to the Disney High family soon?

This is cool, I like how you're sort of fleshing out the dynamic between the characters. Being from different movies, it's kind of cool to see how they'd bounce off each other.

Ha ha, Ariel's the wild one. Of course, being the red head. That does seem like her personality though. Interesting having her being the social one, I don't remember her getting along with her sisters that well, though I guess she was eager to meet new people, so that does suit her in a way.

I just realized how Rapunzel's being homeschooled prior to her enrolling in Disney High reflects her movie being made much later that the other threes' as well as Rapunzel's story. And Ariel and Jasmine's movies were back to back, so naturally they've known each other the longest. It's clever how you throw in those subtle references. Also cool how Rapunzel's peace signs are held up to her hairline kind of like scissors, sort of as an allusion to her having longer hair before. Really neat how you're doing this.

Also, panda pencilcases are the cutest thing ever. I think this is my favourite picture of Mulan from you so far, I think you captured the Chinese aspect of her appearance best here. And as always, copics make the best black hair.
